China tests ballistic missiles with the longest range in the world, capable of striking US or Britain with TEN nuclear warheads

Abit ironic isn't it China? You condemn North Korea for testing their missiles and you go ahead and test your own which is far worse. The world is on a knife edge, it's only a matter of time which is why we can't scrap our nuclear deterrent.

This will all end badly. China developing more and more sophisticated weapons of war WHY?. The Middle East on a knife edge with Iran hating the Saudis and news this week about a secret report which the US government is sitting on and the Saudis have made threats over because it is said they gave the order for the strike on the twin towers which just like Pearl would be an act of war if true. Then we have Mr. Putin who the west see as the big bad wolf. On top of this powder keg is the world on the brink of a financial meltdown far worse than back in the 1930s and we all remember what that brought about, WW2. Oh dear, very dangerous times indeed. At a time like this Dodgy Dave has cut out forces to a boy scout outfit and if a conventional war was fought we have no PITS and next to no Steelworks. Oh yes, its another fine mess.

Make no mistake all this arsenal will one day hit everybody like a flash. No winners here. But We as animal species are the most destructive lot this planet has ever had. It takes one madman and We are history. And We are heading that way...conflict is all around us. It will only get worse. And our polítical elites and leaders have a lot to answer for.

And our response is to increase the Aid Budget and cut our Armed forces very cunning.

Quite funny how it is the US complaining that China is testing technology due to tensions in the South China Sea. It's NOT the North America Sea but the South China Sea. Meanwhile a few weeks ago back in Feb 26th the US tested two launches of Minuteman III missiles. Then the US Deputy Defense Secretary Robert Work said the approximately 15 tests conduced since January 2011 were to send a message to 'strategic rivals like Russia, China and North Korea that Washington has an effective nuclear arsenal'. If the US wasn't militarily deployed around the world interfering with regions that have nothing to do with the US, if the US wasn't funding regime changes that spectacularly fail, if the US wasn't fuelling regional conflicts with cash and weapons and troops, then we would think the US had a upper moral hand to rightfully complain rather than what appears to be a blood covered fist of dollars that the US uses to bang on the lectern of the global stage.

And Corbynites want to scrap Trident.

Chinese quality, it's bound to break down or change direction and blow themselves up.

Besides, thirty minutes launch/coast/reenter is too long to stop the other side from launching. Then there is the issue of "Where are the Tridents slumbering?" I am not going to lose any sleep over this. It changes nothing. The situation is not good, but it has not been for generations.

As the great Hans Bethe (who worked on the atom bomb in the Second World War) said, Submarines armed with nuclear missiles are the ultimate weapon. Nuclear powered submarines can roam the sea bed undetected for years without running out of fuel, and have weapons that can take out a city thousands of miles away.The only effective weapon against a submarine is another submarine.

After buying all the cheap Chinese junk we have to accept that we have made the finance of these weapons possible.

Perhaps China should join the EU. With them, germany and france owning most of the UK they have no need to threaten us with long-range weapons.

And what benefit would China get by nuking the UK? Considering China has so much money invested in UK and a vital trade partner it's a stupid scaremongering story.

This is just two months after the Pentagon unveiled its B-21 bomber project that can bomb any place around the world, any surprise?

Well, to be honest, we gave them the money to do this, by buying their products. The governments of the western world were told they would do this but chose to ignore it. Now we have a nation with the largest army, navy and air force in the world for "defensive" purposes.

WTF is going on in the world? It looks bad for mankind, there will be no winners in the end.

Oh the irony! the deal which started under the coalition and continued under this present govt will see that along with the french nationalized energy company edf, china are going to be building what has already been dubbed the world's most expensive nuclear power station in the uk... no doubt to also be constructed out of their cheaper grade steel whilst having already slapped a 46% tariff on the uk produced, higher quality tata steel...

And the US has more naval firepower with its subs and carriers,[ nuclear and conventional] than the rest of the world combined.

Every 2-bit country is taking advantage of Obama. Don't know how the next president will roll this back. Only way is if Russia fly-by again, a warning and then a shoot-down if they do it again. America needs to help Japan and Taiwan build an island also in the China sea. We know the UN will complain, but then we should just cut-off funds and let China pay their way.
