Some web users claimed the bride and groom were from Henan province, in central China, according to their accent.

The couple could be seen trying to hide themselves behind their 'lucky' red duvet as the guests attempted to undress the bride.

The woman was wearing red bra, red underpants and skin-tone tights as the group of men tried to take them off. She screamed and tried to cover her body with the duvet as the game began.

The guests made a few attempts. One of them stretched his body trying to take off the woman's underpants. 

The groom appeared to feel uncomfortable at the game. He asked the guests to stop while trying to shield his bride using the duvet.

The video ended when the bride sat up to put her bra straps back to her shoulders facing against the guests.  

The footage has gathered nearly 500,000 views since it appeared today. 

It sparked an outcry from web users, who were shocked by the guests' vulgar behaviour towards the bride.

One user commented: 'This is bad folklore. It's way out of line.'

Another user added: 'Wedding games as such leave me speechless.'

A third user said: 'What kind of friends are they? Why didn't [the groom] feel angry when they stripped his wife?'

In China, wedding games take place after the newlyweds finish their ceremony and return to their new home. 

They are usually planned by the bride and groom's close friends.

Traditional Chinese wedding games include 'finding the peanuts' which sees the guests looking for the peanuts hidden in the couple's wedding bed.

'Peanuts' can carry the meaning of 'having children' in Chinese; and the game indicates the guests' wish for the couple to have a son as soon as possible.

However in recent years, wedding games in China have become more sexually suggestive among younger generations.

One of the common wedding games sees the bride putting a condemn on a banana which is held by the groom between his crotch.
