Yes, there are vast open spaces in Texas, but none of them are home to cat sanctuaries where cats have adequate space to live happily. The few sanctuaries which exist have compounds a fraction of the size recommended by the Zoological societies, which is the bare minimum for care. They do not roam free, do not hunt prey, are usually obese and live short, sad lives.
