UN says N. Korea accusations vs US troops 'unsubstantiated'

In 1972 or 1973, I was on a temporary duty assignment (TDY) along the DMZ northeast of Seoul, Korea. I was Air Force, and the purpose of my trip was to do maintenance. An Army specialist took us to a wall of sandbags that was about 10 ft tall ant told us that beyond the wall was the no-man's-land of the DMZ. We were ordered not to look over the wall at N Korea... no exceptions! Then the specialist took a styrofoam mannequin head that was made up to look human, and put it on the end of a mop handle. He raised the head above the wall and turned it back and forth as though it were someone surveying the landscape. There was a resounding Whack, and the mannequin head disintegrated into styrofoam debris. A moment later we heard the gunshot. Talk about provocation. The North was trying to kill Americans whose only crime was to look into North Korea. While there, we were also shown an opening to a tunnel that was large enough for a convoy of light or medium tanks to pass through. The tunnel was packed with explosives as far as the DMZ and collapsed.[CN]

well I suggested that installed both vision and heat detection security camera along the border with automatic weapon without a military person present, so they can make all the faces on monitor screen as the North can't see, if the north think there is no one watching anymore, they will be surprise if they try anything stupid.[CN]

This is hardly anything new. My brother served along the DMZ many years ago (among other places) and according to him, it's been pretty common for both sides to taunt the other. Funny how Kim isn't complaining about hanging/displaying the bodies of people his family accuses of being spies from the South along the fences for all to view but he finds "odd noises" to be troubling. Whatever, dude.

"Strange noises" and "disgusting facial expressions" cause an international incident. Wow. Is it just me, or does North Korea seem to be ruled by children? And here I thought the North Korean Army had tough soldiers. Evidently they can't handle being pointed at or gestures or noises. Wow. I bet our soldiers just became petrified of offending North Korea. What a joke! All North Korea can do is threaten slaughter of civilians. Their military would be completely decimated by ours or even just South Korea's.

South Korea-U.S. military drills that ended Saturday?? They should not end it, i think their aims is to start ww3, foolish people.

In other words, just another day at the DMZ.

Americans bigoted? No way.

Also over heard was "I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elderberry".

Its not hard to provoke the North Koreans . Maybe we should give each soldier on the border a beautiful 12 inch sandwich to eat in full sight of the NK armed forces each day . Subway , Jimmy John's, Quizno's doesn't matter .
