Observer, the earliest scripts of the first few books in the Old Testament I believe is in and around 1145BC (been a while since I researched it). All of the books included in the Bible were written in about a fifteen hundred year period as the New Testament was written after the birth of Christ.

Within factual argument, it's good to be in control of the facts, wouldn't you think? Furthermore, not all of the writers were sheep herders and many, obviously, from the fact I presented (you can research it yourself, which you should - especially if your going to quote them), wrote before the birth of Christ. The B-52 is a decent weapon, but it's no penetration bomber.

It can, however, carry up to 18 AGM-86B air-launched cruise missiles or up to a similar amount of AGM-158 JASSM or JSSM-ER. The former and later have ranges of over 600 miles, and have pinpoint accuracy, and are all nuclear-capable.

A flying weapon depot, that can certainly 'reach out and touch someone' (just like the old ATT commercial).

Certainly the USAF can improve the B-52 (new, more efficient engines - extending ranges), using RAD materials on leading edges of the plane, reinforcing fuselages, scraping much of the old (still effective but extremely heavy) aviatronics for lighter, solid state systems (provided they work equally as well), adding defensive capacity to the aircraft, etc.).

But the BUFF still certainly has a role in the US arsenal.

And aside from routine maintenance, they are paid for.

There are still dozens of BUFF's at Davis Monthan AFB that can have their tails quickly reassembled, and upgraded. Others are likely too far gone (wings chopped off). Little over a year ago, the USAF revitalized a B-52 called Ghost Rider, and it's now in service after having been thoroughly upgraded at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana. It took only 70 days to get Ghost Rider in the air again, followed by two more months of improvements and it was sent to the Middle East.

Cost effective.
