another mental case. The should have kept him in jail-so he didn't kill anyone on one of his "not so good " days. I amazed that they didn't let him out so he could get his hands on a gun

He was a thief and a criminal . If he wasn't he wouldn't have been in jail . The world is now a little better place .

It was a $5 dollar theft moron...I imagine you find someway to steal that much every week. So should you be thrown in jail for months? White collar criminals get less than that for stealing thousands, cristy7. And be honest with yourself, you are nothing more than a bigoted racist.

Something is wrong here. Why would someone be put in jail for stealing a snickers candy bar? What is the media leaving out? He must have done more than what the media is admitting to. Are they trying to have readers come to the conclusion that law enforcement is to blame? This kid was brought into this world by irresponsible "parents" and then spent his life being neglected by them. I do feel sorry for him. But don't blame law enforcement! It's his "parents' " fault. No one should have kids if they're not going to raise them properly.

His family failed him and now they want to blame innocent people for there lack of care.

Now his family is concerned, OH well one less drag on society and OBAMACARE.

A petty crime or even something major... Either way if your somewhat "well off," your OUT on bond in under an hour.

So where were his parents, siblings and friends? His life not matter to them except when he's dead? Could have contacted the little good Rev Al; he would have showed in day or two depending upon how much one could afford to pay. Of course, in the future, he'd have to break-away from his Sunday morning, prime-time show.

Didn't care enough to read the whole article. I'm tired of black "waaaaaa! Lawsuit" when they get caught. Then the county/state provides a lawyer and the family does OK. Question: Uh.....and this was the what'th time for the same offense? Don't pull no crap. Nobody is locked up for a $5.00 theft.

This is yet another disgrace for those in charge of our mentally ill and in charge in general; in this case the police in that particular jurisdiction. America is NOT a third world country and in the year 2015 one would think that a young man could be seen to properly. It isn't ROCKET SCIENCE. Why so many against simple kindess is beyond me and I include all the haters especially.
