When will the say the WHOLE STORY?? Something is not being said... If he had MENTAL ISSUES why was he out alone? Why was he SHOPLIFTING? What was he trying to STEAL? Is this the 1st time or what? Did he see someone do it and think it was ok?? Truly there is a lot left out..

Why couldn't his family just pay the $5 to the stupid store, vs forcing taxpayers to keep footing the bill for keeping him incarcerated? At least at home he might have eaten and taken his medications. Put him under house arrest with an ankle monitor.

Why don't the mentally ill get treated as people who are ill? I was once told by a judge that the prisons and jails are "full of schizophrenics"....this is not acceptable, but who is going to change it? I had the conversation with a judge over 30 years ago in regard to my father, who later died in prison from suicide.

Had the FAMILY gotten him some help that he obviously needed, maybe this whole thing could have been avoided! Here we go again, they blame everything on others and take no responsibility for themselves. SMH

I'm tired of parents who neglect their children while they're growing up. They have mental issues that are not medically addressed. They are not taught or experience how to live a civilized life. Something happens to them, the parents find someone to blame like law enforcement. Look at Tamir Rice--he was mentally ill--literally. His family was disfunctional. They're doing everything they can to blame law enforcement for Tamir flashing a gun in front of the police.

Guess he won't kill any cops, or riot and loot any stored will he.

Family is not looking for answers, they're looking for money. HP does nothing but race-baiting. Why not report the whole story. There is a reason he was denied bail. Probably never showed up for court from previous arrests. But you guys want to make it look like he only stole a small amount (like it's okay to steal small amounts) and because he was black was somehow killed in jail. Had this been a white person there would be no report. Why has the family not given him help?
