why don't you replace the spears with a hypodermic needle ( end of the spear ) that delivers a small amount of sedative and you need to get 5-6 sedative spears in the bull before it goes to sleep. You would get the same effect ! as you do now GETTING WEALER AND WEAKER !! without the barbaric cruelty that animal will be terrified. ITS A AMAZING IDEA !!!!!!!!!!

Thankfully this tradition is dying out. I've just returned from Alicante myself and I can tell you that many of the younger generation of Spain think this is barbaric and cruel too.I do love Spain but I hate this sick cruel tradition
