What a load of rubbish! This girl was obviously a just and worthy case, she wasn't getting breast enhancements or any other type of enhancement it was correctional surgery. If our tax money was used then I'm happy they went to help this girl!

I don't understand why people can't just see the positive, life changing event for this young woman rather than bitching about the color of her teeth and the cost ....

In necessary cosmetic surgery the colour of the teeth is picked to look natural and suit the complexion.Not everyone (Including myself) Wants the hideously obvious "Hollywood Smile." It's equivalent to stupidly oversized breast implants.

They probably put yellowish veneers to achive more natural look.

Well I don't mind a bit of my NHS subs going towards her kids' treatment if necessary.

Well considering i work in theatres, this is one of the better uses for NHS services and totally justified.That being said i wouldn't mind paying my taxes again and have you booked in for your lobotomy that bit sooner.

Quite probably, if her children need corrective surgery, but it doesn't necessarily follow that any children will suffer from the same condition. From reading the article, it would appear that neither her parents, or her sister, suffer the same problem.

Corrective jaw surgery has nothing to do with vanity. This woman's underbite was a severe deformity that would have made it difficult to chew food and speak clearly. Trying to chew and speak normally causes stiffness and pain in the joint, and over time the joint degenerates. It can also cause trauma to the teeth. If she didn't have the surgery now, she would have increasing problems as the years went by, probably necessitating reparative surgery later.

There is 6 years between the first and second photo so of course her teeth are going to change and she is going to look different.

Nasty, extraneous and bitter comment. Her teeth have been fixed for g.'s sake. In any event, the important result in this case is not the before and after color of the teeth, but the alignment and position of the teeth.

The 2 pictures are 6 years apart, dear "NO Thanks". when she was 14 and her dentist sent her for surgery, so forget about lightening etc. And yes, there is a HUGE difference in the proportions of the face, seen from the front, besides the profile and besides the genius work around the teeth/gums. "NT" try to imagine what it must have been like for her as a young teen, an age where everybody feels insecure. great surgeon. Good luck to this young women in her future career.
