Humans will NOT survive another 1,000 years on Earth, says Stephen Hawking: Physicist warns we must 'escape beyond our fragile planet'

The real problem is our lack of actual sociability. If we worked with one another for one another, and did likewise with nature, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in. Those who constructed our so-called society did so to maximize their own gain. The obvious answer is change, but there will be no change so long as you wait on others, you've got to be the change. So get talking to your family and friends, make the change happen. We have the technology to all live in harmony with nature, to have a good home, good food, etc... all it takes is a little co-operation and to get beyond the selfishness that this present system encourages.

The earth has had a series of extinctions, perhaps we are just waiting out our term.

Given how much the world has changed in the last 100 years you don't need to be a scientist to know things will be very different in 1000 years.

According to the "experts " we should all be living on mars by then.HaHaHaHa.

Another world war will probably occur over food. If so, it will probably cause the death of a billion or so people. Then ultimately child quotas will be implemented in many countries killing babies that were not sanctioned by the governments.

Yes very optimistic ! a couple of more generations may be more accurate .As for space travel huge problems for humans in deep space hart problems eye sight etc etc not to mention huge distances.This planet really is special so maybe we should be more carefull with it !!

I'd rather we didn't and human kind ended on this planet before we poison another world. We simply don't deserve it.

Another doom monger! Why is Britain full of pessimists? Especially the Brussels Broadcasting Corp whose never ending warnings on cancer, global warming, BREXIT etc. go on and on! Funny you never hear them complaining about the obscene salaries they're all on!

Sadly I have thought the same for several years. Despite Remembrance Sunday every year, none of our politicians take the time to really remember the atrocities of both world wars, if they did they would avoid conflict at all costs instead of wading in bombing and waging war for little reason or purpose. It's no longer a case of if there is a nuclear war, but WHEN !

If they can't maintain bus or train services then we are all shafted if we expect a shiny spaceship to drop us off at the nearest habitable planet. And I bet there won't even be a McDonalds there.

most likely answer - carry on wrecking this planet till we all die off and the planet can re-heal itself. honestly, were always looking for alien life but im sure we are the aliens here - every other life form on this planet has balance with everything else except us. we're like cancer
