I went through a period where I tried to memorize Three Hundred Tang Poems (T'ang Shih San Pai Shou / Tángsh¿ s¿nb¿i sh¿u). Ancient Chinese poetry can be addictive. For a Westerner, it's like looking in a mirror and seeing oneself in a rather comfortable and understandable alternative universe.
