Today's kids remain stupid because their parents are just as stupid as they are. And the worst part is they won't do anything about it. You're not going to like what the world is like twenty years from now. Life is going to be real stupid.

You forgot coping skills, morality and the belief in God who is always there for you whom you can turn over your worries to rather than drive yourself insane worrying about things you have no control over. Religious beliefs are down and suicides are up. Coincidence? I think not!

Bliss is the same as it ever was. You can learn all sorts of things. You can accomplish all sorts of things and not feel bliss. It was tough 2000 years. It's tough today. Cannot press a button or text to Amazon for 'bliss.' And yes I mean 'bliss.' The end result that we all seek but no one knows about unless they feel it. I could tell you about. But you already know it right? It's how you walk down the street and see love as far as the eye can see . . the same love your perfect child displays at all times to enemies and friends alike . . .especially when disciplined. :) It's how you feel when people glare at you and laugh at your mind games. Bliss. Bliss and MORE bliss. The only reason why I'm writing about bliss is because . . .well . . . such a lonely view at the top. Beautiful though. :)

I work for a large retailer and I could not believe that some of the grads could not give change or count it out. Their writing skills are terrible and they know nothing about history, so I am wondering what they did for 12 years. People overseas laugh at our children today and call them stupid, this made me mad until I realized they are right. Do away with electronics until they master Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. Students should also be made to take Home Economics along with the girls taking sewing and the boys shop classes so they can take care of themselves when they go out on their own.

Ever read the 8th grade advancement test from 1800's ? Google it. Shows why there wasn't a need for more education than that unless you planned to be a Dr. Heck, kids today wouldn't even understand the questions let alone know the answers.

Americas enemys are laughing at us and how dumbed down our youth has become.Todays kids are being dumbed down in this awful propaganda education system by politicaly correct code words. They learn nothing useful and come out as puppt drones for the liberal extremist left wing nut jobs. Bring back prayer, the pledge to our flag and respect for God and country and family. Bring back the paddle to correct those who do not follow rules. Stop no fault divorce laws that has destroyed millions of familys. Just take the thugs and send them home asap. Clean up our schools now and keep the gender confused and feminist cult and athist filth propaganda away from our kids.

Instead of getting frantically bused around to six different extracurricular activities, maybe kids should pick one favorite and otherwise get a job.

Typing? seriously that is more important than ever. You think kids are learning asdf jkl; positioning by themselves? no they will be two finger typing their whole lives cause some idiot doesn't know what skills are important.

I came home one time bleeding from my ear and told my mom that the neighborhood bully beat me up. She grabbed me by the non bleeding ear and escorted me out the front door and said: "You take care of those problems yourself." Today, parents don't let their little darlings stand up for themselves.

I teach History in a community college and each year I am increasingly horrified at all the things the new 18-19 year old students don't know when they graduate. Most can't do even simple math without a calculator. Most can't read a map. Most know little to nothing about history - even basic American history - or political science. Many often don't know there's something called an "index" in the back of a textbook, and they seem both mystified and confused when I ask them to look something up. They stagger through the halls and on the school grounds mesmerized by texting, and they seem to think that texting slang passes for proper English. They can't write in cursive and when I lecture and expect them to write lots of notes many of them are obviously not used to doing that. Their feelings are hurt too easily and they do not take well to strict rules. They are often horrified when I tell them that their grade is what they score on their tests and they will not be given a bunch of extra.

I have terrible penmanship too, and all I really use is my signature in cursive-but over the years I have known many successful people who wrote in a cursive I could not read. As far as reading a book where you turn the pages-my nook works great and takes up a lot less room than a bunch of dust catching books I only read once. Many adults I know do not know how to have constructive confrontation-but I never liked it either. If you look at things like Father's who never knew their children and Mother's who didn't find "themselves" I think our generation and our children's will do better in many ways, while they may loose some skills we have.

Our local High School had 25 valedictorians. Each parent thinks their kid is special and so do their lawyers. I'm sure college recruiters have caught onto this and now downgrade that "achievement".
I can hardly imagine how difficult employing these whinners will be.
Deadlines for work? No
Be on time? No
Accept that not everything you do is great? No
