What a hypocrisy!...

I have no idea what our president was thinking he or the United States would get by him "visiting" Hiroshima. All he is doing is restarting the "apology" debate. Even Japan knows it isn't going to get one. They have many skeletons in their closest that a million apologies from every generation going forward couldn't heal. Yes there will be hardliners who will demand USA apologize. But that's a small crowd that the media plays as if it's every Japanese person demanding an apology. And then some idiot like myself will be on a dumb website like this and type up an essay defending his actions.

The war ended over 70 years ago, no apology for the bombs on Hiroshima or Nagasaki is necessary. Japan was given opportunities to surrender, and didn't. Tokyo and other cities were firebombed to the ground, and still no surrender. Okinawa was brutal, Japan itself would've been much harder. Certainly, an invasion of Japan would've meant quite a bit more casualties for the U.S., but there is no guarantee there would've been less Japanese casualties by invasion as opposed to the two bombs. I actually think Japan would've suffered a worse fate with an invasion.

There will never be a nuclear free world

Obama just loves to bend and kiss the hands of foreign leaders.As for japs and their attrocities during war the only regret should be that Yanks didnt drop the biggest device on Tokyo.
