First stop prison, then banned for life. Absolute terrible and inexcusable I hope the ref is alright, and hats off to the player who was man enough and decent enough to challenge him.

There's no place for someone with that sort of temperament in professional sports, particularly a contact sport like rugby league! A lifetime ban is the only viable option for the game's sake followed by legal action against the player.
