So, instead of trying to better himself he plays the homo, race card and somehow in his demented mind he justified to himself to murder two white reporters who were capable in their profession. If this isn't a race crime I don't know what is. In his final act of cowardice he killed himself. Why didn't he just jump off a bridge instead of ruining countless lives with his cowardly act?

Good point. At first I thought he shot the interviewee to eliminate a witness, but then he boasted and published his crime on the Internet. I suppose he thought he was an excellent reporter doing a news article. Sounds like at some point Flanagan was an okay, likable guy and then something snapped. A drastic change in personality like that indicates mental illness. I guess we'll never know now, but at least he did us the favor of trial by suicide.
