US space technology was based on the 100 Nasi Scientists to work till they successful in the 1970's. In 1980's US prosecuted them for war crimes and some went back to Germany. Well US had the blue prints and rockets but not the trained brains. Now US has to hitch on Russia rockets to go to the space station.

China's economy will not and cannot grow as it has in the past decades. It's going to massively taper off. So to catch ui with the US it'll still take quite some time.

Historically, planting the flag has always said it all, going back to ancient times, as it was intended.

The plaque does not disavow ownership, which was intentional.

It is not a legal document.

The plaque is sentimental drama just as the proclamation at the Statue of Liberty.

Legally, they are meaningless.

Liberty's proclamation is not an immigrant Visa, and the Apollo 11 plaque is not a Deed transferring Title to anyone.

Slug ll's reply correctly pointed out the ruling legal reality.

My satirical comment is a dig at the PRC for its ludicrous territorial claims in the South China Sea, which are much weaker than my tongue-in-cheek comment.

You mean the side of the moon that we can't see because the same side of the moon is always facing earth.

It's called, "tidal lock" or synchronous rotation. Half of the moon is always lite by the sun whether we see it or not.
