Always about money all the time. Try telling that to the aspirational kid down at their local park.... Grass roots that's where investment is needed, get the kids fit, away from their play stations...running around not sitting watching already overpaid pre madonnas chasing a ball!Gooner
No club can ignore its fan base. Similarly the minor European football powers will not accept second-class status. Fans demand domestic competition and a Champions League that represents all of Europe. Who's to say that a small club from a minor country can't do a Leicester and light up the tournament. The current set-up works well and the only reason to change this is the pursuit of profit. These profits are likely to remain imaginary if fans are restricted to watching clubs from an elite group of leagues. It it ain't broke, don't fix it.TERENCE DOOLEY
How much longer are the fans going to put up with this farce called football and how much are they prepared to pay to watch a match???????
