I think the world must accept that China is capable of producing such advanced gear, they are not daft, they have the money and have been inventing things for many 100's if not 1,000's of years. After WW2 the world all bought cheap Japanese goods and called them crap, nobody is saying that today.

Does anyone buy anything Japanese anymore? All my stuff is either Korean or American and built in China. Our Nissan and Hondas are not even built there any more.

And the cow jumped over the moon. Seriously, if they had it, don't you think it would be kept top secret and not leaked to the press????

60 miles....By the time they see it, it will already be to late. It will be overhead before your own pilots even get out of bed.

Given an aircraft that is doing mach 2 (1522 mph) could cover 60 miles in 3 minutes, I'm pretty sure they couldn't even scramble an intercept in time. If it were a jet like the Blackbird (2200 mph), it could cover 60 miles in 2 minutes. So yes.... ThePleb is likely right in their assertion.

At Oxcom. fair enough. Do you need aircraft though?. Can the likes of the iron dome do the job?

Typical Western arrogance and ignorance, chinese are good at creating and inventing. don't forget chinese invented Gunpowder, compass, paper, printing, paper money, toilet paper, rockets, mines, silk, umbrella, noodles, golf, football, porcelain, Alloy steel, Seismometer and so on, all these were hundreds years advanced then Westerns. When China was great country of invention, western countries even don't know what is technology. You guys just believed god created the world. Later you stolen all these technologies from China, China just lost inventions in Qing Dynasty, because that time China was ruled by barbarian Manchu, they were afraid of chinese so banned inventions and technology in Qing Dynasty. But now chinese are free again, and can invent all what they want. If you guys don't believe it, then just watch BBC and discovery : Ancient Chinese Inventions, or Inventions that europeans never invented, ancient chinese inventions. or check List of chinese inventions on wikipedia

They nicked the technology off the yanks anyway because that's the only thing they're good at, where does all the fakes come from. Think about it

And the Yanks nick all their technology off us. Like vertical take off and landing.

it probably only detects their "stealth" technology

There's no way you could create enough entangled photons quickly enough to be of use for anything like this.
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
LamouchereelReply toResedit
What are quantum entangled photons?
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
ReseditReply toResedit
Entanglement is a strange quantum effect. When you entangle 2 photons they basically become a copy of each other and anything that is done to one will happen to the other, even with miles between them. Einstein dubbed it 'spooky action at a distance'. I love the quantum world, it's bonkers!

Ha ha. They get stealth radar detection the same day the US launches its first stealth ship. Lololol

Interesting that they have almost the equivalent of cracking the enigma code but they tell the world all about it??? Does that ring true? I don't think so.

Not quite right
We have always been able to detect stealth. When the first stealth bomber flew over Britain, two tornados flew along side it, and the pilot of the stealth said "you can't see me" to which the tornado pilots replied " yes we can we have you on our radar" The American government then wanted to buy the blueprints of the radar, to which we said no. Because if they have it then everyone will have it.

Old IronReply toNot quite right
And therefore, what was the point of signing up to buy stealth jets from the US that have already overrun exponentially (as usual), which still don't work, and which, lacking effective stealth, become everybody's easybeat - before they're even commissioned and on line?

Then you just gave them us because your planes use U.S. made radar. The weapons on your planes are American made. The avionics are American made. The ejection seats are American made. You make air frames and on the best jet engines in the world. Your jet engines are 2nd to none.

Any radar can detect a stealth jet. The problem is that it has to be focused in the field of view of the jet, and what comes up as a small blip must be correctly confirmed to be an actual jet. As far as the new Chinese radar is concerned, I'm not sure how it's an improvement, but I also don't know how they plan to test it; they don't have any fully operational stealth jets (that I know of at least). Having something work in theory is far from having it work in practice.

johnnpaull - Hardly a stealthy design by modern standards and now vulnerable to interception.
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
Old IronReply tojohnnpaull
Blackbird does fast and high better than anything else - but rockets and missiles can catch it, it isn't a fighter, and as it isn't "stealth tech" either, what's the point?
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
FeddupReply tojohnnpaull
The point is, why are we paying the USA so much for 'stealth' fighters when they are detectable by radar, ie, not stealthy?

HEATHEN - In WW2 Britain gave indications of having developed infra red technolody to detect submarines. The Germans devoted considerable resource to counter such a device, resource that would have been better deployed elsewhere as we had no such device.

China invented something. First since inventing gunpower.Usually they just steal technology
