I remember this game when it first came out and have played every version of it. I love this game, it's a blast, though I usually play it on PC so I hope they come out with a PC version as well.
There is a PC version out (it's the version I own). You can get it through Steam (digital download) or buy a physical disk. Beware, the physical disc will still require a 45gb download, and you will have to play the game through Steam. Also, the physical requirements are higher than normal, so I'd check out those as well to be sure your PC at least meets the minimum requirements :) Happy demon hunting :D
I know my PC will handle the game fine. AMD 6 core, 12 GB of RAM, 2 Tb he space. The only thing that might be a minor problem is the 1Gb onboard video. Just wish that the single player was stand alone as I have never been to fond of steam.
My all time favorite weapon from any FPS, going all the way back from the original Doom to today's most recent ones is the double barreled shotgun from Doom II. BAM!!!!! You sneak up close behind the other player with that and they're DONE, stick a fork in their #$%$ an turn them over done.
I love this game! The satisfaction of watching a giant demon's stomach explode after dodging multiple fireballs is just plain fun. I'm a fairly new PS4 owner, but I'm very happy with what I got.
I'm indifferent on this game, I don't know how I feel because the game doesn't feel like Doom, it feels like Painkiller. Doom isn't a run for a while, then kill a bunch of stuff until spawn timers run out, then run for a while, then kill a bunch of stuff until spawn timers run out, that's Painkiller. I find the game overly repetative and almost boring at times because it's just the same thing over and over again. There's very little surprise to the game, where in the old Dooms, things were always happening when you hit buttons, and got key cards. Also, the weapons are overly weak, and it gets frustrating when you unload entire ammo stocks on 2 or 3 enemies. You will also find yourself running backwards while looking forward more than running forward and looking forward. Basically 90% of combat, you are running backwards because you can't kill anything quickly and everything follows you. These are just minor gripes. Overall I like the game, but it doesn't feel like DOOM. THE MULTIPLAYER feels like Doom, it's old school for sure, and it's alright, there's an extreme lack of content and variety, which I think severely hurts it.
So in the end I'm kind of torn. Yes I like the game, yes it has some Doom qualities, but the way they did the combat kind of turns me off. I wish they had the monsters already mapped out like the original Doom instead of spawn points.
I didn't realize yahoo writers reviewed games. Anyway, my only concern with buying this game is that I feel like I might get tired of it after I beat the main story. I'm not sure if just a story mode is worth $60
Once you go through the main story, if you haven't already done so you can go through it again and look for any Easter eggs and hidden spots, play it in God mode, change the difficulty if you hadn't played on the highest setting etc... Lots of things to do after you beat the main story line. lol
Redbox it over a weekend. 9$ and that is a modest 3 hour a day play time. I invested a lot of money on a bunch of 6-10 hour games that have nearly 0 reply value. Worse case if you love it buy a used copy. Since the multiplayer has mediocre ratings the used copies will be 40-45$ soon. Unless your a fanatic don't pay full price.
Looks like a deliberately stupid Libtard is trolling. Give your Mommy back her laptop, give up your gay professor Marxist abuser and go start looking for a job, retart.
lefties are slowly starting to realize that they can no longer blame their miserable pathetic lives on their self perceived boogeyman the "evil" republican any longer....
well its turns out this game does have levels like old doom..but its not DOOM anymore..to me, its something else...i hate serious sam and quake quad damage then why put heavy metal music for every enemy moments like serious sam...i didn't buy this game to become like Serious sam 4...and i really disappointed on the last boss...to me its complete remake into the trash can...hope they don't make Quake 5...i going petition let raven make Quake 5 from sloppy hands from the new creators....i miss john carmack works..it feels more originality from scary music atmosphere we miss from...could be that midway made the best port of Doom back then ??? Doom64 was the best of all Dooms
enough already. Obama and his goons controlled the system for 6 years and accomplished 1 thing, Obamacare, which now costs me 100 dollars a month more for insurance than it did in 2011. Thanks! go ^(&^& yourself.
makes me sick that we can't discus a game, movie etc without one moron coming on here to talk politics. rep or dem both sucks and i don't care which one you are take it to one of the many glorious articles about trump or clinton just keep it off other articles. this is a prime example of stupity in america when morons see and artilce about a game or movie then they decide "duhhhh i think thats a perfect place for my comment about stupid trump clinton duhhhhhh"
To all those who are breaking stones of the lefties, keep in mind the id creators are lefties as are most game developers. The righties utilize the games to promote violence in the real world.
Doom is back. Id is back. The single player game is AMAZING and single player FPS has not been this good since the 90's. Multiplayer is awful. If Id wants to print money then release single player DLC. Thank you for reminding me what gaming is all about. I was beginning to lose hope.
What's amazing about it? It has nothing new or original in the entire game. No aiming. No reloading. Mostly melee kills. The only time I died is when I fell because the double jump mechanics are so bad. Whatever. Different strokes...
