Alaska-bound, Obama faces backlash on Mt. McKinley renaming
Obama can't "protect" Alaska from anything especially his stupidity. He will do anything except the job he was supposedly elected to do. Oh lets go to Alaska for another 3 day vacation to look at global warming in his deluded mind. Denali "the high one" is what Obama is. An act of Congress named the mountain and Barry just loves undoing stuff because we do not have a Congress to stand up to him. Sadly he was not tossed out of the WH when we had the chance.
This is what the Alaskan legislature and the people of Alaska want. President Obama is simply doing the right thing. Why can't you right-wing-nuts get that through your thick skulls?
Don't we have more important issues to worry about?
I have my parents that are being harrased by phone calls from a student loan company
that have no ties with but because they search for the next family memberon the list.
Students are haveing a tuff time paying for their loans when they are 9% and higher. ESL and chase banks will not work with us and bring the presentage down. So many kids are forced to stay home and untill they can pay off their loans now but please lets worry about chaning the name of a mountain! REALLY!
Student loans. I am 75 years old. I am also a retired U.S. Marine and don't take someones Crap (S--T) After I got out of the Military I went to College. I NEVER had a student loan. This was obviously years ago. I still am harassed by collection agencies for money they say I owe. The interest just keeps adding up. I used to try and tell them they have the wrong person who may have used my name. They try to get information from me, i,e, S-S number. When one credit collection agency quits another takes over. I finally tell them to 'STICK IT UP, you know where. I sometimes wish they would sue me so I can counter sue them. NEVER GIVE THESE LOAN SHARKS ANY INFORMATION. From: the Old GUNNYOZZ
“This name change recognizes the sacred status of Denali to many Alaska Natives,” Secretary Jewell said. “The name Denali has been official for use by the State of Alaska since 1975, but even more importantly, the mountain has been known as Denali for generations. With our own sense of reverence for this place, we are officially renaming the mountain Denali in recognition of the traditions of Alaska Natives and the strong support of the people of Alaska.”
If it was anyone but Obama, there would be more support for renaming the mountain to it's original historic name. But he's alienated so many people that there is a strong negative reaction. If you look at Obama's record (the entire record and not just cherry picked pieces) he hasn't been a very good president overall. Among his worst accomplishments was fragmenting the U.S. along lines of race, gender, sexuality, income, ethnicity, religion, etc.
How arrogant that Obama and Kerry are going to affect the weather and cycles of the Earth. Are they going to visit Antarctica and bring attention to the expanding glaciers and increasing ice packs and ice shelves that have developed to be the thickest since measurements started and are continuing to increase? I doubt it, that doesn't fit his political narrative.
Get over yourself Ohio and John Boehner. You have nothing to do with Alaska. Having lived in both Ohio and Alaska, I know the original name of Denali means a lot to the natives. Ohio should name one of it's own mountains McKinley. Oh, forgot you don't have one. So name a park.
