wow red arrows. disagreeing with the laws of physics eh? For those that do not know, an atomic bomb releases most of its energy as X-rays. In the air this results in a large (1km diameter typically) fireball because the x-rays rip electrons of all molecules in the air which causes them to catch on fire. In space however, the xrays fly unimpeded, which means they will wreck anything up there (like a nuclear missile just fired). So if you can start dropping atom bombs in space above a country THEY cannot launch any missiles (except from their submarines or aircraft already in flight). there you go x-ray lock down in two sentences.Robert Perry20
The arms race was wonderful it fast forwarded technology more than 50 years with 10 without it we would not have the internet as there would not be a demand for intelligence networks, we would not have supersonic jets, we would not have nuclear power stations until recently as nuclear research would not have been moved to the forefront to develop nuclear weapons, thus nuclear energy. I can't remember where it was said unfortunately but it was theorized that had WWI and thus WWII not have happened the cold war would not have started and the tech boom of the 80's would never have happened, that it would not be until 2020 that the first PC would be available. and the internet would not have come about until the mid 2025-2030. Anywhere in the world in less than 2 hours means going a lot faster than 3840mph, the circumference of the world is 24900 miles, this means to get to the far side of the world in two hours you'd have to go at 6225mph. The benefit of going into the upper atmosphere is that there's very little wind resistance so you can go a lot faster. Maybe the 3840mph is just it's speed at lower altitudes.Simon LoveReply toSi
The circumference of the World is 24,900 miles which means that the furthest any two points on Earth's surface is 50% of 24,900 miles = 12,450 miles. If we round up 3840 mph to 4000 mph and round down 12,450 to 12,000 miles, then this jet could cover the distance in 3 hours. Further to this, don't forget that Russia itself, is almost 6,000 miles wide. Therefore anywhere else on the Earth is well within the 2 hour flight time, assuming the craft was launched from anywhere within the Russian border...评论
