Absolutely barbaric...just horrific

So when is the everyone in the uk going to give up killing and eating their animals, pigs, sheep, cows. Maybe if everyone commenting on here is vegetarian then I could accept it. If they are not vegetarians then they should stop their double standards.

Barbarians, just an excuse to kill I think. If there is any tourism there people should withdraw their visits.

What a bunch of backward deranged loonatics. Sick, sick, sick. Norway should be ashamed and stop this. The whole of Europe condemn this but it seems Norway and Iceland carry on regardless.

Whale hunting is an ancient and noble tradition. These animals are used as food and are not being mindlessly brutalized. The meat is tasty and a damn sight better for you than supermarket muck. Hippies go home, the only way to stop hunting is to ban meat altogether, and that will never work.

Simply barbaric

Yet another example of how tradition and culture is out of step with modern living. This act was originally carried out through necessity to feed people and give them supplies for winter. It has no place in the 21st century as so many other traditional things don't. Just because things have been done for many years does not mean that it should carry on now.

They eat the whales. Not one person can say this is not acceptable if they too eat meat.

This is no worse than killing animals in an abattoir for food. The Faroese eat the meat just as you in the UK do after killing the animal. Only difference is that they see what is done to the animal whereas in the UK you buy it packaged from a supermarket.

When will we learn that we cannot impose our values on other cultures? The species is not endangered and little goes to waste... so we should butt out.

Consider this like bull fighting. If you try telling them or forcing them to stop then they will dig in, rebel and continue it. If however you monitor it then it will die of it's own accord as a relic from the past. It will take time but it will happen.

these people are doing this in a sustainable way how are they any different to our farmers of fishing boats?
