People saying it is threat to people are talking nonsense, a giant snake has NEVER eaten a person( there are fake pictures going around and tall tales), the only people who have ever been killed by them are pet owners who were careless and not looked after them properly. Saying that looking at the snake I'm not so sure it was killed by people the body looks bloated I wonder if it was injured in explosion when they spotted it then died later and workers found the body?

Large snakes have eaten plenty of people, especially in rivers plenty of fishermen have gone missing from rural villages in areas where large snakes are found

Just think of the money they could have made from making it into a zoo exhibit at least. Better than killing it.

Ask the animals who weren't born in a zoo how they feel about that.

This snake would make a great exhibit at the San Diego Zoo! I hope it's not dead.

As much as it may be nature and found as a result of an explosion, I fail to see how these armchair warriors can ask as to why it was killed. Put yourself in that situation with people around who have no experience or handling of wildlife and found the biggest snake alive- perhaps they will ever see in their lifetime. It could squeeze, kill and eat most of the people there and risk it by 'letting it go' only to return and kill a worker or someone else nearby? Sad as it maybe, they did the right thing.

I wonder if all these whiners in here are strict vegans that are complaining about the snake being killed ?

I hate snakes...they terrify me. But I don't want to see a magnificent creature like that killed either.

LC, It's a good job St Patrick banished them from your fine country then.

Jon Voight knows a bit about Anacondas. He could have used it to eat his daughter.

You people are weird. You're all "sad" about this snake but then many of you probably eat animals too. Just shut up for once, every time there is an animal story half of Britain comes out with fists swinging protesting the inhumanity. Very bizarre.
