Very sad but how about less of the guilt trip. Not taking anymore people.

This is not about taking anyone in. Yes Europe is full, but have some sympathy for this poor child!

easy for you to say. you are safe at home, being arrogant because of that feeling of safety, when these invisible people live and die before actually living.

How about demanding it be stopped? How about the world ask those children get safe passage out of Syria and let Assad the monster get on with his heroic war games.

Shame would be with the neighbouring countries not helping before we are expected to.

Whether it's propaganda or not, he is a child paying the price for Assad's inhumanity to his own people.

Best comment: " Poor child you say but I bet 99.99% of DM readers will say keep him there to fight for his country. Never mind that he might have lost everybody who loved him." Britain has become an increasingly intolerant place as shown with the reports today proving how much racist attacks rose as a result of brexit.

Oh please give it a rest on the Brexit bashing. It's getting old now. I was a staunch Brexiter but I have a heart and it breaks for this poor innocent little boy. Stop trying to blame Brexit for everything. This has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

This type of propaganda is designed to make your heart melt down and welcome somemore migrants in your country . That's what it's all about. I feel terrible about the kids butI also feel angry about the way Media manipulate ppl ina very leftie manner

People you are being played by the media and whoever pays them. Do you think it's an accident that these sob images are being passed around now that the public in Europe has turned against these migrants?

JimW, I was under the impression you voted Brexit to get out of the EU. Syria has nothing to do with the EU. We already have our own rules on who we can take in/ reject. My concern is why the United Nations was set up. I am quite wrongly of the opinion that they should have intervened at an early stage to stop the war by threatening all parties if they went to war. World peace should be the over-riding factor for the United Nations to prevent anything even close to World War 2 from happening again. Unfortunately, all the nations have failed to do the right thing.

We are full! and it won't be kids like this entering, it'll be fully grown IS men that come over take all they can and form factions within this country, its a miracle how we havent been attacked like France but it will only be a matter of time! then we'll be sorry for opening the gates to anyone

You obviously never did geography at school! We are only a small island! Sad as it is, we can't keep taking in people, there are plenty of other larger countries that could be helping. You should try thinking before writing comments!

MarkReply toPetra
No we are NOT accountable for this and yes we are full, the fact of the matter though is we are helping these children and other children from countries such as Iraq, we just can't take half the male population running away leaving these poor children to fend for themselves. So really get your facts right we are taking in young unaccompanied Asylum seekers.

Sad picture , sorry for the child . This is not however our problem , the Middle East is full of Muslim countries that can look after other Muslim people and they should be doing more to help them . The influx of refugees to Europe should stop and they should all be sent to the open arms of the Muslim countries in the Middle East where their way of life and common bonds of faith and outlook can be met .

We know nothing of his circumstances, but from the photo, I would deduce a wash, clean clothes maybe a couple of stitches and some plasters would cover his physical wounds. What lies beneath or behind the scenes is another matter. Yet another 'sensational' photo to manipulate the public.
