Don't mind my paying license fee to watch this and listen to DA dulcet tones. He's a legend. My feet were off the ground whilst watching this... Iguana the hero.. Better than any horror movie!!!the latgallian
I'm surprised Lily allen has not been whingeing about how snakes should be vegans.Exiled in England
I truly despair at some of the comments being left in respect of this programme. It seems that some people find it impossible to pass comment without raising the subject of brexit or people's personalities. This was a remarkable programme, the BBC doing what it does best and what it is respected for throughout the world. Yes it showed some grisly scenes, but this is what happens folks, you cannot sugar coat these things, and no verbal description would have ever properly described the amazing scenes that were shown last night. This was TV viewing of the very highest order, and we should celebrate that it showed that Britain is still far and away the best at producing these nature programmes.IanReply toExiled in England
Totally agree. However, you have to remember that this is the DM, the documentary was by the BBC & it was narrated by a chap who thinks that Kippers are thick. Not a good combination. The snake scene was some of the best NH footage ever, the shot where the hapless Iguana looks back over its shoulder & the snakes stop dead, was superbsimon
The whole show was amazing. Hats off to all the brilliant cameramen/women. Nature is tough environment and this showed it. Fantastic filming.Ruislip Resident
What 'shocked' me more was that my 6 year old said they were racer snakes before Richard Attenborough did. He had seen them on Deadly 60, a CBBC wildlife show hosted by Steve Backshall, who is a cross between Steve Irwin and Richard Attenborough but for kids. Great footage never the less as was the bit on how they got onto the volcanic penguin island in the Antartic.Punchjudy
I couldn't believe it - i really was on the edge of my seat and whooped when that iguana got away. It was horric but mesmerising. Terrific show. Bitterly regret missing Sir David Attenborough doing book signing at my local waterstones a few years ago. A true National Treasure!DLloyd1992
It was amazing... I hate the BBC but Planet Earth is probably the best piece of programming ever made. They should concentrate on this style of factual programming, the quality of it warrants huge profits if handled properly.DLloyd1992Reply toDLloyd1992
They're entirely publicly funded and they're meant to be the national broadcaster... but they're extremely bias in nearly all of their programming and a lot of it is mindless rubbish which has no benefit to anyone watching. However Programmes such as Planet Earth are brilliant and are exactly what the BBC should invest our money in and then sell at a profit... Our money should be an investment which in the long term we get more back from, but they're too ready to just throw it away.
