If we have a thousand years, each generation will leave it to the next to do anything. This includes Reducing Emissions, Contaminants, and Soil Erosion. The eventual Arc will contain few non human passengers.

You can be sure the government will be already jumping on to the bandwagon and preparing passports for this expedition into outer space in order to have money in their own pockets so that they can live comfortably off when they arrive at the new destination.

Who can tell what earth will be like in one thousand years?. All guess work, anyone can forecast, but who will be proved right or wrong. Only 225 years ago, horse power, [about 2000+ years old] was replaced by trains, so in 1000 years time? Possible outer space travel?....Only God knows!

I actually wrote about it in my high school essay, and I came to conclude that it would be cheaper not to start a nuclear war, stop playing with genetically engineered viruses, or not to rise threat of artificial intelligence.

Yes, well the only problem with that is that it would take a spaceship thousands of years to reach the next habitable planet. Unless we can terra-form Mars but even then there would be space radiation to deal with.
