Maybe she should have kept this as a private matter. I am not sure she thought this whole thing through enough.... it's not the most intelligent thing since it is very risky to both her and the baby. Thankfully, it all turned out ok so enjoy your birth story and move along. Why do people feel the need to make everything into some type of public spectacle? I suddenly sound like my grumpy grandfather.....Cynic
Not sure about Australia's laws, just don't try that in Utah. There laws preventing even wading in certain streams as part of Utah's Clean Water Act. Many streams run toward water plants for human consumption. I don't want to drink your amniotic fluid, and I doubt anyone else would either.Just sayn
Personally I do not agree with her choice, but since the beginning of time women have given birth in natural settings with no doctors. Today her choice was seen as foolish, but there was a time when it was the only choice.. Having two high risk pregnancies it would have cost my life and that of my childs. So many women and babies have died in childbirth why would you take that risk?mailonlineuser15
She is lucky everything turned out okay. Yes woman have being giving birth naturally for all of time but so many have died needlessly..I am so grateful to live in a country with health care available!!legacy
I learnt the hard way that mother nature can s h1 t on you big time. I once drank from a beautiful, crystal clear stream which bubbled downhill quite beautifully. Ahhh, i thought, this is how our ancesters sought refreshment on a cloudless day in the hills. So i quaffed away. Hmm not bad, i thought. Feeling oh so proud that i was at one with nature, i proceeded upstream on my walk. Not 100 yards hence...was a chuffing decomposing sheep lying in the stream. Severn Trent water only, for me now. Sod mother nature!
