Sorry to disappoint you but I've lived in Cornwall for forty five years and have never heard anyone say this, it's a myth.

More fudging of the data to keep a global warming scare industry going.

Well, Brexico is just like Mexico really. Full of stupid people and run by warlords also boarding a United States with hoards trying to get out through tight boarder controls.

I think you mean hordes and borders rather than Hoards and boarders, sound the same but completely different meanings.

Unfortunately the temp in Vietnam rises to around 30-40C whereas in Cornwall the temperature doesn't rise much above 15C. The comparison with tropical Vietnam is absolute nonsense. Also much of Cornwall looks like a pit village especially around the Redruth area where the spoil heaps and clay pits are very attractive-not!

I hope the people living there aren't receiving the Winter Fuel Allowance. ;)

The weather on the IOW is far better , and the seas are warmer - I spent 2 weeks in Cornwall , everyday drizzle , but in London at the same time , it was fine and warm - what Cornwall seems to have , is a mild Winter - when they used to run the sunshine records , it was always between the IOW and Jersey for the top spot .

Both nice places to take holidays. I have been to both for the last 3 years.

Yes the weather on the Isle of Wight is often better than on the mainland. Fantastic place to spend your holiday, especially with kids!

It rains and rains tomorrow for example heavy rain forecast hardly sub tropical in the true sense but at least it's not been invaded by immigrants - yet ! However they are on their way seeing more and more in the city I live in !

Go on the live webcams. You will see beautiful Blue Skys on Sunset Surf ( Gwithian Beach ) . Dosn't rain everywhere. The Minack Theatre is bathed in sunshine.

jbellemeg - of course the Theatre is bathed in sunshine - when it isn't raining, that is.

Rain is usually fairly heavy in sub-tropical climates. Coastal areas in Cornwall receive an average of 39 inches of rain a year. If it was sub-tropical and humid like Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama rainfall amounts would be significantly greater.

Subtropical without inner city natives. Lovely.

It's a shame the rest of the country isnt like this .: it used to be many years ago

The rest of the country has definitely never been subtropical, even in the past.

Doug.... Where do you think all that coal came from? It was nice and warm when those trees grew, with lots of CO2 to help them grow.

Yes but it doesn't go above 20c and the sun never comes out.think I would prefer Mexico.

No scorpions, rattlesnakes or drugs cartels in Cornwall though and the hygeine standards are a lot better.

Above 10 degrees and you call it subtropical? You have to be joking. Atlantic maritime is the correct description. Here in Melbourne, Australia, ou temperatures and call it "temperate".

australis1975Reply toJohnM
Doesn't drop below 10 degrees for seven months. I.e. night time temps remain above 10 degrees. Not talking about daily high temperatures. Still, Cornwall is hardly SE Queensland...

Now I know why the Duke of Cornwall is a bit of a hot house flower! Seriously though Cornwall itself is a gem and the local community are really welcoming.

Especially of EU funding. As a little backwater of Brexico that gravy train will hit the buffers.
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
Bishop-TrelawnyReply toYorkshire lady
That EU money didn't make a blind bit of difference to the county
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
TruthWillOutReply toYorkshire lady
Jetty.........As the UK is a net contributor to the EU the so called 'EU funding' was just a small proportion of UK taxpayers money coming back having been repackaged with an EU label

Truth will out.... not to mention the FU handling fee, that goes unaccounted for.
