Let's be reasonable. At what height was the aircraft when it was shot down? 33000 feet which is 11 kilometres or 7 miles high. Now tell me who can see a fighter jet at that distance, let alone determine whether there are two, even less credible is the statement that they saw them firing a cannon or releasing a missile. The US has their spy satellites watching the area and they KNOW what happened but are refusing to release the proof. Therefore you have to ask - are the Russians releasing these stories in the hope that the truth will be forced out of the US?

View was from satellite. And yea you can. But the rebels' weapons wouldn't reach that height, hence the flight was flying over. Jet did it.

What if Russia shot it down by accident? I don't believe any side shot down a passenger airliner on purpose. In which case there is no need for a motive. Or indeed, Russia or the insurgents they support could indeed have felt they were benefitting by shooting down a Ukrainian fighter jet. As for propaganda, this documentary explores all sides. You won't see anything in Russia exploring the possibility of a Russian attack. So, until your dictator stops shutting down dissenting media and 'silencing' political opposition, I think the propaganda accusation is... well, Russian propaganda by a Putin bot.

This is hardly news to anyone who reads non western media.The people interviewed by the BBC about the jet was shown on BBC World news at the time of the event and subsequently "dropped" from view..That the US claims it has satellite evidence but won't reveal it even to one of the dead US victims of Kiev's terrorism tells you all you need to know...

FIRST OF ALL Ukrainian air space is controlled from Kiev so why they allowed passenger plane to fly over war area? It is obvious they wanted something to happen to blame Russians. Just simple logic is enough evidence because what would be the point for Russia to shut down passenger plane?

Military ATC recording was removed immediately after. First time ever, but accepted as normal. What was on those tapes implicates the Ukrainian jet. May be in the documentary though. I heard it at the time.
