Nightmare! Have experienced similar although all buckled in seat belt then, still very unnerving! Will remain local from now on, have seen enough of the world thank you!Frustrated01
Another passenger said "some people have probably broken their spines".Well, that's a bit different to the headline, isn't it? Still scary AF though.OwenJ
I feel sorry for anyone who has to fly and only has a choice of Aeroflot. Having said that, these days virtually everyone understands that turbulence can impact aircraft without warning, hence the 'suggestion' by most airlines that seat belts are kept fastened all times whilst seated. The only blameless in this story are the babies who may have been thrown about.jay eff
What confirmation did the DM have about broken spines! Because the way I read the story it's just someone's assumption!!! Rubbish journalism as usual!I BE A Penguin
Seat belts fastened (& tight) when seated?...only the people on the flight would be able to answer that...We're frequent flyers and always have the belt done up comfortably tight even when asleep....years of experience of cabin crew making it an issue with the slightest hint of turbulence detected...even then some passengers have chosen to ignore the cabin crew's advice...in this case maybe? who knows?...so many armchair analysts (like myself) will have an opinion as always!!jjw
I remember in driver's ed we were required to watch a movie about real car crashes- I believe it was called Wheels of Death or something like that- and it scared us into driving safer. A video of turbulence and injuries from it should be compulsory in the safety demonstration onboard. It would make people think twice about unfastening their seatbelts while they're seated.
