I must've gone to an abnormally short middle/high school then! I was always one of the tallest girls and I'm 5'6. There was only maybe 4 or 5 girls the same height or taller than me.

So... Men in the UK are actually almost 5'10". I am proud to be the average height for a woman in the UK... it's just sad that I'm a man (well male gender anyway)... but I topped the next tallest in my family... my dad by 3 full inches, and my mum and sister by 6 full inches. I heard smaller peoples ancestors lived in high up areas and needed to be short so oxygen can go to organs quicker, maybe that's why people from Netherlands are so tall as they live at sea level so don't need to be short?
