Never mind - if Scotland leaves the UK, the average height for the UK will go up. I know, I'm Scottish and 5' 7" and my family were never up at 5' 10" !

Maybe cold climate potato eating nations taller, hot, rice eating nations shorter, in south of China rice and hot weather short people, in North China, potato and cold weather tall, just a theory.

Notice the stark differences between the US and some European countries compared with the rest of the world back in 1914. Then those extreme colors (dark blue) disappeared in 2014, you can only imagine why that happened. I'm sure the influx of people from very short countries had something to do with that.

The long and the short of it is, does anyone care about this study other than those who worked on it.

The tallest men are from the Netherlands at an average of 182.5cm, which the report describes as 5'11". 182.5cm is virtually 5'11 7/8". Whatever happened to rounding up and down DM?

The most obvious reason for any disparity in most things relating to the human species can be brought down to the simple denominator of FOOD, If you eat junk it will ultimately effect the bodily chemistry, so why the surprise!Any research is useless if the correct controls, & standardisation are not adhered to, even most scientific studies can be questioned when variations in conditions can be seen to be present.REGARDS .......... I'm a 5'10'' female which was lofty enough in the 60s when I was a kid. My son is 6'4''.

I'm 5'1 and my 8 year old is already catching up to me in height lol. I'm comfortable with my height but it has its disadvantages. I always need help reaching for things in the supermarket, and when I'm on the train I always end up squished because two big guys.

Cheap, highly processed meat has a lot to do with this. Whatever it is they inject cows and pigs with gets into us.
