Man jailed for months over $5 theft found dead in cell

WELFARE put the black back in slavery and they don't even know it.

This is a very sad story on the surface. But I feel we're not getting the entire story here. Why would this young man be locked up for 4 months for stealing a candy bar?? And how is it there weren't suitable arrangements made for him based on his condition? Clearly we're not seeing the whole story.

This is the worst case of idiocy of the court system and negligence of the jail system. I hope that the judge that resided over the case gets booted from the courts and the law enforcement agency gets their ass sued. Months in jail and bail denied. Obviously its not known his previous record but for this alone is incredibly ignorant.

Don't commit the crime if you can't do the time. And while in prison, make sure you exercise and eat a well balanced meal so you don't croak while in your cell.

The media states that this man was jailed in April for stealing $5 worth of merchandise from a 7 Eleven store, and was denied bail, The Media fails to state that he was obviously denied bail because he had a history of Criminal behavior, had serious enough mental issues to declaring him a risk to himself and others. His Family blames the Jail system for not giving him the Help he needed, I ask them why did not His family knowing he had mental health issues give him that help from the very start?
Also we have a Black Prosecutor [the media fails to mention that the Prosecutor in Hampton Virginia is black] seeking an indictment against the Jail system. HMMMM

What blithering idiots ... jailing a young man with mental health issues for MONTHS over a $ 5 shop lifting type crime ? MY, what an intelligent use of taxpayer funds, never mind the human side of this event.

ZERO doubt that if he had been white, things would have been very different - probably let off with probation and a warning.

In jail for stealing. Doesn't matter if it was $5.00 or $5000.00 Stealing is a crime. Why didn't his family visit him and get him to take his meds and get him to eat?

If his family would have taught him to not steal he'd still be alive today.
