It seems to me a lot more women cheat in marriages than men do....most women already have lovers before the marriage is even over....women know this too, just will never admit it

When you have a partner that cheats on you two things tend to be occurring 1) the relationship isn't one 2) the criteria for successful partner will be repeated. It is very difficult to change how you arrive at decisions; you have to rewire your brain. The behaviors of BOTH parties in the marriage contribute to the cheating in the end. Some may say no but if you think about it BOTH people made decisions that lead to one being unfaithful; but don't confuse decisions with morals.
Im not sure it will help with future relationships. Id expect the difficulty of trusting, and thus being happy much more difficult.
With that said, experiencing things like criticism, disappointment and failure is key makes you more capable to confront it in the future (applying to far more than just cheating). One of the reason the excessive coddling in modern society is going to result on problems. So from that side of things, I suspect a person would come out somewhat stronger.
Cheating is as common as getting a cold these days, todays society has more options and social connections that ever before. Before computers and cell phones and social media - people stayed in their own realm of close friends and people they actually knew . Now we can connect with anybody, anywhere - facebook, dating sites and all the other self promoting media sources have created infinite options. My opinion is - people who have options - usually take them! It's a much colder world today - bonding with another human being doesn't seem to mean too much to some people. Love is becoming a meaningless word in a world of hookups and fifteen minute friends!

Yeah ok. My wife's best friend who is super hot (no seriously a major hottie{like to the point of having to force myself not to ogle her when she is over}) has been cheated on more times than I can count. She is always dating some rich guy that is super nice till he is not. The dudes will cheats on her they stay together for a little long but eventually break up. Time and time again. She hasn't learned anything. Keeping going out with the same kind of guy.
She has learned. She is a gold digger so she doesn't want a long term relationship. My friend's wife was like this. She'd make him bring home a bucket of KFC every day on his way home form work and eventually she upped and stole his double wide trailer and get herself a new guy with more money.
There's still something to be said for basic intelligence. And also someone's upbringing. You can't convince people that they can't fix past relationships with the same type of person they had problems with in the first place. Daddy complexes, for instance.
I would like to know why all of the discussions around 'cheating' are based on the male doing the cheating? I'm a guy and my ex cheated on me after 7 years together. And i have two friends, both professional males, in exactly the same position right now- except they were married! For one of them, he caught his wife cheating in their first year of marriage! Yet there is no support. In fact men almost never tell a soul because it's somehow shameful. I'm sure the friends of our exes pat them on the back for being so sexually liberated - getting their own back on the evil males- An idea that this article perpetuates. Women are just as bad, and in my immediate friendship group, even worse than men. And the sexist overtones in this style of article give them a gilt-edged 'get out of jail free' card.
What about men that get cheated on? Something I hate about articles about cheating is they always point to men being cheaters, but my experience has shown that women are just as likely to cheat and act on it just as often as men. #sexist #doubleStandard
Relationships can be tough. If you innately lack impulse control, your level of commitment under tough situations would be questionable. Being committed is a conscious decision, and that level of commitment shows when a relationship is faced with some kind of turbulence.
Sounds like you are confusing love with some sort of dutiful religious type thing. If you love somebody your unconscious impulse is towards them, whether you make a big deal about it or not.
If you have to "consciously" commit then you need to take a step back, however slightly, just to get a new perspective.
He/she might still be the one for you, but not right now.
