Call him Jimmy. Say I am glad you called. Get over here so we can get rid of the body.

Complete load of crap. I've been on the Do Not Call list for YEARS and I still get calls!

Do not call "laws" are as effective as gun laws. Criminals whether telemarketers breaking the do not call law or felons breaking gun laws.
Can you libs ever figure that out???
If you're not going to ENFORCE laws, they don;t work!

How stupid does she think we are. Yeah, tell the telemarketer to put your number on the no call list. As if they would really do it.

This is one of the stupidest stories yet. I am on the Do Not Call list. It doesn't matter. I still get the calls. I have politely told them NO and told them I am on the Do Not Call list.. I have also filed FCC complaints. THEY STILL CALL.. I'd like to know what the heck I am supposed to be "polite".. puhleaze...

Bull, we shouldn't have to put up any telemarketer. I say, get a whistle and put them on block list with your phone company.

there should be privacy laws made for the public against telemarketers..also for poparrazi..since when do the bad people get special priority?

I recommend a an animated discussion about the legality of the ancestry of the telemarketer They always avoid Caller ID and they ignore do not call lists so in n my book they are fair game for anu insult you would like to use!!

THEY ARE LIKE LEECHES. THEY NEVER GIVE UP AND THE DO NOT CALL LIST DOESN'T WORK EITHER, MAKING IT ILLEGAL IS A BUNCH OF BUNK! THEY CALL MANY TIMES A WEEK , THEY NEVER GIVE UP !

The "Do not call" registry works a bit but there are so many loopholes in it that you can still get called legally even if you are on the list. And of course our scum ******* politicians exempted themselves from it, just like they have every other law they make.

Hello Karen

I have more problems with charities calling and looking for hand outs. The Do Not Call List excludes charities from calling. Any good suggestions on how to get them to stop calling?

I tell them some sob story that I don't have any money or that my husband just left me or some other family problem and start crying.

B.S. Article.
No matter what you say or do they WILL call you again. If not in the next few days than certainly in a few months.
BLOCK their phone numbers is the ONLY way to avoid them. Newer phone systems allow call blocking and all phone companies have phone blocking options.
My phone system rings only once & shows" blocked call" . This occurs almost daily & I have a big fat smile on my face everytime that happens.

Doesn't help that there is no enforcement of the Do Not Call list. Telemarketers know this, and that is why they are coming back to haunt us. I know people don't want more government, but if they don't have the resources to enforce, the laws are a waste of time.

Nothing works including do not call list !

Do not call list is useless, and they don't take you off the list when you ask. I had some one call this morning, twice, at 8:20 am and 9:30 am. Not home so machine picked up.The second time a girl with a heavy spanish accent kept asking "Is anyone there, hello, hello, is anyone home." Honestly, girl you got a recorded message twice.

hi halbert

Tried all those tips and they haven't worked for me. I just blow a whistle in their ear.

"There's a fine line between being too rude and being too friendly. You just want to remain polite but not reveal any personal information," she says.

Really? Who says that we have to be polite to these people? Sorry but I just dealt with a guy that called about my business and I told him I wasn't interested. He called back 2 times and both times I said I AM NOT INTERESTED. He apparently took that to mean I didn't have time right now to listen to him so please call me back. When he did call me back a 4th time yesterday I said look, I told you 2 YEARS ago I wasn't interested in your scam and I have told you 3 times in the past week. Call me again and I will turn your company over for phone harassment.

Better step register your phone with the National Do Not CALL list. If they still call report them they get a huge fine!
